Most stable & most popular: BMC4 [FORGE] for Minecraft 1.20.1 — over 15 million downloads. This is the safest choice for most players.

Latest Minecraft version (1.21.1): Choose BMC5 [NEOFORGE] or BMC3 [FABRIC] to play on the newest Minecraft release with all the latest content.

Prefer Fabric? BMC2 [FABRIC] for Minecraft 1.20.1 or BMC3 [FABRIC] for Minecraft 1.21.1 — both offer the lightweight Fabric experience.

Step 1: Download and install the CurseForge App from curseforge.com.

Step 2: Open the app and go to the Minecraft section.

Step 3: Search for "Better MC" and select your preferred version (BMC4, BMC5, BMC3, or BMC2).

Step 4: Click "Install" — the app handles everything automatically, including mod loader setup and mod downloads.

Step 5: Click "Play" when the installation is complete. That's it!

Step 1: Install Prism Launcher or ATLauncher.

Step 2: Add a new instance and select "Import from CurseForge".

Step 3: Search for "Better MC" and select your preferred version.

Step 4: Install and launch the modpack.

Step 1: Go to the CurseForge page of your chosen Better MC version.

Step 2: Go to the "Files" tab and click on the latest version number.

Step 3: Look for "Additional Files" and download the Server Pack (this is the full pack, approximately 600MB).

Step 4 (Important): The main download file is just a manifest for the CurseForge app. You need the Server Pack for manual installation.

Step 5: Extract the zip to a folder on your computer.

Step 6: Install the correct mod loader: Forge 1.20.1 for BMC4, NeoForge 1.21.1 for BMC5, or Fabric for BMC2/BMC3.

Step 7: Create a new profile in your Minecraft Launcher pointing to the extracted folder.

Step 8: Set JVM arguments: -Xmx6G -Xms6G (minimum 4G recommended).

Step 9 (Important): Better MC requires Java 17 or newer. Make sure it is installed before launching.

These versions may have compatibility issues with newer Java versions and are provided as-is for archival purposes.

Game crashes on launch? Make sure you have Java 17 installed. Older Java versions are not compatible with current Better MC releases.

Not enough memory? Increase your RAM allocation to at least 4GB by setting -Xmx4G in your launcher's JVM arguments. 6-8GB is recommended.

Mods not loading? Make sure you downloaded the Server Pack from the "Additional Files" section, not the main CurseForge manifest file.
